Saturday knock up match.

A sunny day down the lake.

With another Saturday very low attended match I decided with the other two anglers to choose 3 good pegs pegs 32, 7 and 5 to have a nice day fishing rather than sitting three anglers in a row.

Remembering it was November I was suprised just how warm it was as there were fish crashing all around the lake so things were looking good for a few bites and on that fact Rolfslake did not disappoint. Todays match was won by Steve on peg 32 who fished top two plus two straight out in front to catch his carp to double figures in his winning weight of 124-12 and a new PB {well done Steve }. In second place was Ernie Malyon on peg 7 who caught fish on bomb to the far bank long pole and down the edge but his fish were much smaller and I was sure Ernie had done 200lb as every time I looked up he had a fish on. Ernie fished pellet and corn to catch his fish on the deck but also suffered 8 lost fish. In third place was me who had an enjoyable if not frustrating match as i vowed to try and fish pellet and corn and caught a few bream but no carp but when i tried paste which I thought might not work the peg totally changed as i was smashed on 0.22 a couple of times foul hooked a few and missed bites you thought were impossible to miss with the pole being dragged around.

In the end I ended up with 72-04 which I suppose is not a bad for the first week of November.

 Place  Angler  Peg  Weight
 1st  Steve  32  124-12 PB  Rolfslake
 2nd  Ernie Malyon  7  113-08  Rolfslake
 3rd  Eddie Taylor-Green  5  72-04  Rolfslake

One thing for the winter league anglers this week is the lake is nowhere near winter mode as there were carp crashing in the margins sucking leaves off the top and generally wanted to have a feed so the dreaded A section might suprise a few people as the bottom end of the lake was black with fish so good luck to all fishing this weekend.

John tells me this Saturday the 8th of November the Open match is cancelled in preparation for the Sunday match.

Thanks for reading John, Simon and Eddie.
