  • Si, can you put me down as lake king for 20 seconds please mate….

  • There is a peg missing from the Easter festival in section 3, it is 29. I have altered the pegging from previous year’s as certain peg’s were dominanting the festival every year and i hope this will eliminate that. It should even thing’s out a bit and give more angler’s a chance over the three day’s. As it’s pole only putting 19 and 21 in won’t effect it like it would with rod and line and will stop end peg syndrome as 18 and 22 were hard to beat. 32 is not in as it gives room for peg 9 and 31. Having 32 and 9 in boxes it in a bit to much as it’s very narrow here. Any comment’s or idea’s please let me know.

    • I know I am not fishing but just a thought.
How about putting peg 29 in section 1 and moving 23 to section 3?
It currently looks like the guy on 21 in section 3 is way out on his own in that section.

    • i agree with the 32 and 9 comment, it does box you in.

Having looked at the pegging on paper it looks spot on.

my only worry is that some sections that are split from end end of lake to the other, if they all go to the little lake or top of big lake it could cause mayhem

however, its good to try new things and ideas.

Si – heres an idea for you…face the water next time 😉

  • 29 probably won’t survive against those peg’s in section 1 Mick.
I have moved 34 and 8 in with section 1 as they are normally big weight pegs at this time of year. 7 and 2 have proved that on a pressured festival they are hard to compete against in the little lake also, so i have put these pegs in with 9,13,14,27 and 31,with 32 not in it give’s 31 room and an inside edge to fish and also gives room for peg 9.
21 is in with 40,38,35,4,6,10 and 29 because these peg’s are not out and out winners at this time of year. Peg 10 isn’t nowhere near as good as 13 or 9. Peg 4 wins a lot in summer but it’s normally an end peg, with 2 in it’s a lot different. 6,35 and 38 are hit and miss at the moment and 40 and 21 normally only throw up a weight if a warm spring wind is blowing into them. if, on the festival the wind blows into one of these pegs then they will do a big weight, but the section is still fair for the rest. keep the input coming because any ideas and thoughts are welcome.

  • i like the thought process, always annoys me when people just wang pegs in and say ‘luck of the draw mate’ yeah course it is, but you should do anything sensible to limit it as much as possible and make everyone catch and compete

    it’ll be different

and for the record, i showed it to jon walker and he thinks its pretty much spot on too so it seems to be going down quite well with the masses.

  • is it 1pm draw on wednesday? surely cant be fishing till 7 already?

  • The only thing i am thinking is swapping 26 and 19 over. With 18 not in, can 19 compete with 15,16,17,23,a4,34 and 8? 26 would fit in nicely in with 13,14,27 etc. 21 won’t compete with 15,16 etc unless the wind blows in it, then it’l empty it lol. But if 21 or 40 did throw up a wind caught weight, the other peg’s in that section can still compete against each other for a 2nd in section spot.

  • yeah thats a good shout, I think barring a miracle 19 would be a very poor draw in 15,16,17 23 34 and 8 section, where as 26 is a decent consistant peg

  • sounds spot on mate so every were every they are has still got a chance of having a few

  • pellet_king:

its a walk off i think
peg 25 sat on my own will do me

if its a walk off then I’m following you as you’re always on a flier apparently!! book me in John, peg 16 please

  • I doubt it will be a walk off with the amount of people going (well supposedly going)
I bet I draw next to Andy again 🙁

    • si – how many are expected? still only march, you dont want many on as apart from 8 and 34, you only want 14,16,18,22,24,26 so about 10 pegs tops worth having at moment

although 32 could be a good peg actually fishing down the side as peg 8 got a rest yesterday lol

  • Sorry everyone for the scruffy Urchin far right in the banner now 😀

  • Is that a

    Simon:

Sorry everyone for the scruffy Urchin far right in the banner now

Is that a tramp from oop north ??????

Hopefully his winnings will contribute to buying a razor and some washing powder for his 6 year old unwashed Garbolino top !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i dont wash em they just send me new ones av got about 15 lol

  • A up Si I’ve just seen your comment on the points being incorrectly calculated on Sunday so Andy (AKA Andycap per my misses, cheers Maria!!) and I actually won the league!

    Awesome!

Wish I knew Sunday night I would have stayed in the pub!

    See you tomorrow chaps.

    • Those comments are John’s mate. We had a results sheet missing when we worked out the results and there was that many stand in’s fishing for people through out the league it made it hard to work out the points. I tried to get the missing sheet on my phone but it was hard to read on the screen.
John will explain it to you tomorrow no doubt. Well done 🙂

  • dunno how that happened, I had them 1 point in front of you but that was according to Pats results with 1 score knocked up, his maths dont seem that hot either lol

    well done anyway

cant believe we were only 1 point off winning after the 5 disasters we had

    you going tomorrow then mark?

    • yeah i’m going mate. Andycap is going too.

    • I do fancy pegs 18, 22, 16 and 23 for a serious weight this wednesday its just solid down that end of the lake at the moment.

      • I was hoping only a few were gonna turn up and id have pick of the pegs

you lot get to work and leave me on peg 16

ill probably come as weathers gonna be cracking, id fancy 18 or 22 fishing long into that scum shallow I bet you’ll empty it

maybe they’ll use 19 and 21 as well

15,16,18,19,21,23,24 ill have any of those,

  • Paste ha

saying that, peg 25/26 had 120lb on sunday on the deck at 3m by the tree so they are spreading out a bit,

would you fancy peg 8 again?

    • would love it mate. Only fished when the shadows of the tree cames over the far margin at about 2pm so it should fish from the off on the next match

had 100lb in the last hour!

Could be a silly weight cos the fish aint small!

  • I reckon 300lb is easily possible tomorrow if all goes to plan.

I hardly had a bite on sunday yet had 200lb

they are weighing like lead with all their winter fat on em

thing is, its still early march, the little lake wont be worth setting up in unlessyour maybe peg 6 sat on your own, or 34 possibly

    9,10,13, 30-27 you’ll get a few but wont compete

good news anyway, got van sorted, wasnt head gasket, was a split water pipe somewhere so thats a relief! ill also remember not to lock my keys in ha

  • 34lb to win

    see you tomorrow draw bag

  • I just wish i could draw like you two….then i could spend all morning crowing too…lol

  • Dawg:

I just wish i could draw like you two….then i could spend all morning crowing too…lol

Never a truer word said in jest

  • what’s this about what pegs you want, I thought it was all ability and not peg draws these days……..pmsl

  • Just been chatting with some Devizes lads and they reckon you got a right tuning and a sore neck on the K and A the other day Andy….I won’t reviele the weight but i think it best you stick to foul hooking, fish spotting and mugging mate…mwah ha ha!!!

    • good to be talked about as a worthy scalp ha

what a day, 2 million bank walkers and canal going left and right like a maniac

people wonder why commercials are so popular

caps it off when someone hooks a 2lb skimmer and a bank walkers dog jumps in and tries to eat it LOL

  • i must admit my result was down to a seriously lucky draw and i know it!

haven’t draw 8 since 2006 so its about time

You’ve all drawn 8 before no doubt. All except Mick Jones who lives in peg 10!

  • its not a secret, i put it on facebook. he had 22-23lb on end peg next to me

my k&a record is rubbish, I never win anything on there 😉

  • gonna miss the pairs banter now its all over

festival is next, there’s gonna be some heart breaks!!!!!!

  • lol you know nothing about winter fishing

try 110 in a row blanking on river ouse winter league in January

or entire match blanking on leeds and liverpool canal.

    av it!

  • like i said i’m crap at winter fishing. i’d rather play golf. you all start from the same spot and all end at the same spot no moaning about pegging!

  • now a days when its mega bad id rather lay in and go to the pub instead

that day when it was iced and hardly anyone could get there we both dropped that result

    wasted day of torture!!
