The battle for the Silver crown hots up.

The matches these days at Rolfs have as many silver fish anglers as we do carp anglers due to the quality of fish coming out and the amount of fish to go for. However when John Bennett drew peg 13 there was only one species he was interested in and that was carp.

John fished both margings using a variety of baits, corn, pellet and paste to catch fish to15lb in his winning weight of 61-07 {well done JB}.

The anglers fishing for silvers are having their own mini battle as the current Silver fish King, Dick Cullen saw a quality set of anglers turn up to dethrown him with Steve, Brian, Gary and Ernie all after his crown.

With the bream having finished their spawning there were lots of bream in the 4 – 2lb range coming out to go after and they would be the target if you were going to put a good weight together. The battle today saw Dick, Brian , Steve and Ernie go fish for fish in a very close battle on pegs 32,36,38 and 7 and after 5 hours Brian Hutchings just kept aheadĀ  of the chasing pack. Brian just kept ahead of Steve and Ernie catching a winning weight of 20-08 {well done Brian} and regained his crown from the previous King, Dick.

1st in the carp pool was Neil who fished paste on peg 8 for his weight of 30-09.
