6 ANGLERS FISHED
Well done Geoff great result .
I told John a massive weight was coming you must be knackered.
Eddie, is 563lb 15oz the best ever from the Lake?
WOW!!! Nearly fell off my chair when I saw that weight.
Stunning stuff, Geoff.
The 3 R’s all fell into place. Right angler, Right peg, Right time.
Yes Mick the previous best was 530lb from Jon Walker then it was 512 from Mick Lane.
Sadly no peg king or king of the lake but a new venue record so well done Geoff.
Well done Geoff, what did he have on the board.
Does it really count as a proper lake record with 6 on match and 34 spare pegs?
Well done though that’s insane fishing!!!
Yes it does Andy as many venue records dont have a full attendance.
IT WAS AN OPEN MATCH AND OPEN TO ALL IF ONLY 6 ANGLERS TURNED UP , THAT IS BEYOND OUR CONTROL. IT WAS THE BEST WEIGHT ON THE DAY, AND THEREFORE WON THE OPEN MATCH, AND THEREFOR IT COUNTS AS THE BEST WEIGHT RECORDED IN AN OPEN MATCH IN THE HISTORY OF THE LAKE.. HOWEVER IT DOES NOT COUNT AS PEG KING BECAUSE OUR OWN RULES STATE YOU MUST HAVE 10 ANGLERS FISHING.
In addition to the above from John regardless whether there were 6 anglers or more for anyone to catch 563lb of carp and having to weigh individual fish does take some stamina as the weigh station is not exactly close to peg 32.
That weight must of represented nearly 60 carp so everyone should just say very well done rather than taking the gloss off a great achievement as there are probably less than 20 anglers ever that can say they have weighed over 500lb and at Rolfslake we have 3 of them.
The previous record has stood for over 5 years and you are right both Andy and Mick it was insane fishing but it has to have the right angler on the right peg with the right weather.
Also for those anglers that think Rolfslake is easy just ask our bagging anglers how easy it is to catch 400 lb as many have tried and nearly got there.
Geoff deserves his record as he has had many big weights and currently is our king of the lake so it is well deserved.
Too right Eddie.
WOW….. what a weight, that’s heavier than me!!!
well done geoff fantastic weight are you sure its heavier than you chris
