Wednesday knock up match 3rd nov
With the change of draw times only 5 anglers turned out to fish the match, we have know altered the price of matches on a Wednesday to £10 (£5 ticket £5 pools), We also have a walk off draw, so it is a very friendly but still competitive.
The carp were very active all over the lake, but a little reluctant to feed in numbers.
1st peg 30 John Bennett 74lbs 12ozs
2nd peg 32 Phil Powell 71lbs 12oz
3rd peg 26 Gary Kelsey 43lbs 12ozs
4thpeg 28 Pat Pritchard 33lbs-o (including 28lbs of silvers)
5th peg 24 Paul Jay 24lbs_0ozs
Well done John you now lead Mick Jones 8-7 in open wins this year, so Mick you have to try and get out so he does not win on overall victories.
Welcome back Phil some things never change when it comes to catching fish and framing, so things are starting to fall in to place for the unbeatables aka RTG in their quest for league title 11 in a row.
Well done Pat another entry on the silver fish peg king board and your third over 20lb so the guys on the silver opens will have some real competition.
Cheers Eddie, I wished I hadn’t spent so long trying to catch a carp and perhaps I might of beat Mick Lane’s weight
For those who are fishing the matches at Rolfs including the silver fish matches, I will be submitting the results to the Angling Times as long as they are a minimum of 10 anglers.
If you finish on the top 8, this will earn you points which will contribute towards your tally for the Angling Times County Champs.
Hi, all.
Sounds like a good time was had by all yesterday, what no 20lbers to report?
Pat “The Tiddler Snatcher”Pritchard kept himself busy I see. Well done Pat.
Seems like no one wanted to “walk off” to far, is that so John could keep the supply of Tea going out, well they are very socialable matches!
Hope the Silvers match goes well for everyone on Saturday, I shall be awaiting the match report with bated breath.
Fingers crossed I will be able to make the 20th Nov match.
Mind you I will have to get some lighter elastic, what do people recommend? I’m thinking a length of doubled up 6 elastic. Hard to decide incase one of Bennetts Beasts gets hooked. Whooo!
Just noticed that John won off peg 30, he must have been watching me closer than I thought last week, (Cheeky grin!)
And Phil showed that there are still plenty of proper fish to be caught in Peg 32, hope you noticed that Eddie.
Lol Mick, Jon was fishing with a 16 metre pole.
I didn’t know he owned one, though it did look brand new from the no 5 section downwards
Love
The Tiddler Snatcher
I always tell everyone its not the length or size that is important but what you do with it
John you keep telling yourself that.
Well done for the win, i must be a lucky charm for you as you have won all your 8 matches when i have not been there.
Lets see if i can get to the open on Saturday and we can continue our seasons battle when you can’t catch lucky carp to get you out of trouble.
P.S where can you get hooks smaller than a 12 as i have not had to use one for a while and the ones i have are all rusty.
So what was JB doing with 16m of pole, knocking them on the head as they swam past?! I suspect he found 10m of it floating passed him one day.
Eddie, I didnt realise JB only won when you weren’t there, you must have the Carabean(?) pirate voodoo hand over him.
I’ve found a size 16 going spare if you want to pop round to borrow it for the day.
Well Done John and well done Pat for another great bag of silvers……..you up for a quid tomorrow??? 🙂
Dan I like your cheek so I will have a pound with you.
Taking money of young children, what are you lke Mr. Pritchard. You should have offered at least 2-1!
Just waiing for the match report to pop up now, hope you all had a good time. At leas the weather seems to have been spot on for you.
Dont worry, Ill be having it back of hime next time!!:)
lol I like it Mick 😀 😀
Well done Mr Bennett on your first comment 🙂
This could be a sore point reference John finding half a pole.
Someone asked him over the weekend if all his top kits were out of the lake
I keep hearing JB only has one rig, hope he found another before the Silvers match
