Today Rolfslake Welcomed Royal Oak A.C down the lake and with the carp still spawning it make it difficult for the visiting anglers but there were still two ton plus weights headed by Joe fishing peg 10, who put a top weight of 141-00 on the scales {well done Joe}.

In second place was lake regular Micheal Corsini who had 102-10 with carp to double figures.

Royal Oak AC. 26th February 2012.

As the weather was warm this week we were all looking forward to big weights and plenty of bites.Today 14 anglers turned up to fish today’s club match. Most of them have never fished it before if they had it was when Rolf use to be the owner which is a few years back. When we arrived at the lake we could see that there was a over night frost which ended up effecting the fishing in today’s match.

When the match started at at 10am Mick on peg 26 caught a fish all most straight away on the feeder. Then he also followed this up with another. It then went quiet for a while in till I manage to get a 17lb’er on peg 14 and Roger on peg 24 also caught a fish at the same time. Dave also manage to get a 22Lb carp on peg 40 which ended up his only fish of the day. It was looking really good but bites dried up completely for most of the day in till 1pm when a few fish were caught mainly on the feeder on straight lead.

In the last hour Paul on peg 16 who fished a great match caught 2 carp on the pole but tangled up so went around to my peg and took my bomb rod and to my amazement caught a fish in seconds. I managed to catch two more fish that just beat Paul by ozs even though the fishing was hard it was a great day and we hope that we will be able to be back soon. I would also like to thank John b for being down the lake helping with the weighing etc
