  • Well done Andy and Mickey but long way to go and only a 2 point lead

  • draw 32 and 8 next week and you wont be winning by 2 points lol 🙂

  • With 17 out of 20 weighing in I think you all did marvellously.
Big well done to JB for managing to keep the fishery fishable.

  • Rain forecast for next Sunday. High of 6 degrees and low of 3.
I had the silvers going but both me and Lol on peg 31 both stopped catching them at the same time. Hooked a carp on the good old bomb but lost it at the net. It warmed me up a treat though with the old adrenalin pumping 😀

  • pellet_king:

draw 32 and 8 next week and you wont be winning by 2 points lol

    draw of death……

  • -5 tues and Thursday night Si. don’t get too excited lol

  • Can someone please beat my record of fishing as hard as you can for 5 hours (after practicing) to only to come away with two points?

could have packed up and gone home after the first 10 minutes would have got the same number of points!

    blow out or what

    Sorry Andy

  • If the fish don’t want to eat Mark… You can’t make them or If they are not in your swim you certainly can’t catch them. 😀
    3lb 7oz = 7 points… I cannot believe it. That’s the way it goes I suppose.

  • 9 – 13
    32 – 27

    NO
    CARP
    BAY!

  • 9, 10, 28 all lost one

    no carp LANDED bay 😛

  • i will refer to it as no carp bay until i see one at the weigh in!

  • We got the sections worng even after all that debate…..

The pegs on both sides of the lake in the big bowl should be one section.

No carp aby and the little lake should be in the other.

Basically the same as the winter league but with the good section extended a bit.

    Where’s that Steve!

  • Told you it wouldn’t work that way, I could have worked out a much better system for you all just like i did last Easter fest but i got told to keep my nose out coz i weren’t fishing it. Enjoy! Lol

  • hiya phil i thought pegging was dodgy but cant get to lake as to busy so kept my gob shut 27 to 31 and 8 to 13 wont live with pegs in big bowl 34 always good for a carp it used to be pegged each bank as a section a few years ago and above pegs generally struggled so was changed jb must have worked hard toget the match on though hopefully carp will move for next match and prove us wrong

  • Hiya John hope your well mate! It is awkward to peg a pairs match with the way it fishes but not impossible. JB and the lads done a great job preparing the lake considering the conditions. Missing fishing the place and looking forward to Easter festival, are you fishing it?

  • to be fair, it is a pain in the arse to peg for a pairs match, the first match last year 10 and 13 were 1st and 2nd in the match as it was a bit milder

this year it went mega cold and usual pegs threw up

its in the hands of the gods

  • I still think that over the course of the 6 matches things will even out and make it a close affair but we’ll see. Personally I blew right out along with Mr Newbold, however looking back at the match I reckon I could have easily have weighed 6-10lb rather than wasting 3hrs fannying about looking for a carp (big mistake), potentially ending up with 6 points which would have put us second. For me when it’s rock hard its about making the right decisions on any given peg on any given day and getting the maximum from the it whether that be 10lb or 100lb. From what I saw not many people can say they did that so lets blame it on the pegging. We can all chuck a bomb about for 5hrs and when it’s doesnt go round the place is crap or it’s pegged wrong, you may have been sat on 20lb Bream and never realised….food for thought maybe?

    • I agree, its soooo easy to just blame it on the the draw. True 27-31 were poor for carp, but as you say there were silvers to be caught and 6 points would have been a result

then again you can sit for silvers and everyone jams a carp and you come last

decisions decisions! which is partly why winter fishing is so interesting/frustrating

    • also agree the draw should even itself out over 6 matches

although with mr hammond your never gonna get 2 bad draws lol!

  • I looked back and thought the same. I should have worked the silver line a bit more and ignored the people in the section catching carp.
But its easy to look back and say these things after the match. I don’t blame the pegging, I blame me. I chose the peg and I fished it the way I wanted too. 😀
Once I had that carp on I got sidetracked to thinking I could get another which I didn’t, not even another touch.
Fish swim and hopefully next time a few more will swim into my peg 😀
One thing for me in those conditions (Cold and Wet) I tend not to try as much stuff as I normally would simply because of the weather, again my own fault.

  • 😛 end peg mikey

  • Solid comes to mind in your peg andy what if there was a good angler like Paul could ove caught of that peg

  • lol I hope you draw next to me on sunday 😛
