Rolfslake Wednesday Open 22nd March 2017.
All seasons in 5 hours.
Down at Rolfslake today the anglers had to bear horrendous weather with rain , sleet, hailstones plus a very cold wind.
For comfort it was decided to fish the motorway bank except if you were on pegs 8 and 10 then you had the rain straight in your face.
The story of the day was with high water levels and ice cold water it seemed to slow the fishing down, with most anglers struggling for bites.
Today’s winner was John Bennett who was stuggling to get bites on the pole but when he switched to the bomb it was a different story.
John switched between corn and pellet to catch 4 carp and 2 bream for his weight of 34-02 and the win ( well done John ).
In second place was Andy Rayment who was fishing next to John on peg 14. Again Andy struggled for bites due to the gusting wind, but when he fished a shorter line Andy had the swim fizzing like a Jacuzzi. Andy managed to catch 3 carp and a few silvers for his weight of 31-04.
Completing the frame was me (Eddie) on a very cold peg 4. After getting broke by a carp first put in I struggled for bites but eventually found 3 carp and a few silvers fishing down the edge fishing corn feeding pellet for my weight of 21-12.
