Rolfslake Pairs series Jan 2015
The start of the Rolfslake Pairs Series 2015.
Today saw the anglers gathered down the lake on a cold but sunny January morning to start the 6 match pairs series which would see each of the anglers in their pairs fish for carp and the other for silvers in their respective sections.
The sections for the silvers were going to be 36 and 38 in the small lake and 9,10, 13, 28, 30 and 32 in the big lake. The carp section would be 34 and 7 in the small lake and 14,16,18, 22,24 and 26 in the big lake. In order to make things interesting the anglers that fish the carp section would also allow them to weigh in silvers so to eliminate blanks if the carp did not feed thus giving them a combined weight.
The first hour of the match would see only one carp caught from where i was sitting and that was Ernie on peg 26 but the silver anglers were straight into fish on most pegs with John on peg 9 and Anthony on 16 snaring an early bream each to start building their weights.
The winners of the two sections { Silver’s section } were Steve Palmer from peg 38 in the small lake who just held off Doug Robinson on peg 32 with his weight of 15-11 to Doug’s 15-10 and {Carp Section } John Hagues with a great weight on a cold day of 63-11 off peg 24.
For the final results of the day please see below.

Thanks for reading John, Simon and Eddie.
Excellent start to the series, chaps.
Looks like everyone had a few bites on what must have been a rather chilly day.
the weather was quite nice for 3-4 hours of the match Mick.
the carp section was horrific but that’s because they were all on the top between 19-21 area, it was absolutely heaving with them, like 2-300 fish type solid.
it came really warm fri and sat and weirdly it made the fish go weird. 11lb won oakfield just up the road which is errible
terrible even!
Your spelling is nearly as bad as myne.
Now I’m not one for being picky but I believe Carl & Mike should also be on 7pts (and have a better team weight than Allan & Geoff.)
Blimey, that was a quick change!
I would have pointed it out earlier but for some strange reason my PC at work lets me log in but wont send posts, so I have to join the Q for the home PC. Technology, PAH!
WE NEED SOMEONE TO FISH FOR THE CARP AND SILVERS SECTION SUNDAY, KURT CANNOT MAKE IT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.
THANK YOU MICK JONES IS FISHING, SO WE ARE KNOW COVERED
I was looking forwards to the day til I saw the weather forecast, must go look for my snow boots now. But after the crap day I’ve just had I shall be happy to just sit in the fresh air and CHILL!
hi john b just to confirm I was standing in for Charlie bishop this week as arranged last week cheers see you sunday
YES JOHN YOU ARE PARTNERING MICK JONES, WHO IS STANDING IN FOR KURT,SO THE DREAM TEAM ARE STANDING IN,
I guess that makes us a pair of “Ringers” then.
cheers john after partnering you last week john and mick this week just need to partner scotthorne or nudd next else it will be all downhill from there otherwise
After your lake win lake week I expect nothing less this week, no pressure there then!
what happened to the ‘dream’ team…did you both fall asleep? lol 😛
Personally I think I fished a stunning match, kept my concentration sharp for 4hrs 25 minutes waiting for my only bite of the day. 1 bite, 1 fish = 100% success rate!
