Rolfslake Open Wednesday 19th January 2011.
Paul Jays reign as king of the lake lasted only 3 days.
With 8 anglers turning up for todays open together with a few pleasure anglers they were greeted with a flooded lake as the river was busting behind it.
The main story today was that that the carp were willing to have a feed with John Bennett winning todays match with 14 carp for 80-00. John had a great start to the match catching 11 carp in the first two hours, catching down the edge of the big bush towards peg 18. John caught his carp on corn and maggot feeding 6 maggots at a time which kept the fish coming but a trip to the hut for a cup of tea saw the fish move away and in the last two hours only caught 3 more for his final weight of 80-00 and match win {well done John } and also takes over from Paul as king of the lake. In second place was Pete Arnold who was on peg 32 and Pete caught a total of 6 carp the first 4 went 27-08 and the final 2 went 28-00 for a total of 55-08. Completing the frame was Paul Jay who also caught a carp and silvers for 17-00 from peg 26.
The remainder of the anglers that did not weigh in caught silvers but no carp.

Nice one, John. Next time skip the Tea break and do a Ton! Cheer up though, your Carp looks happier than you.
Looks like Pete had a couple of nice lumps.
