Thanks for reading John, Simon and Eddie.
Oh, Eddie. So close (well 10 pegs between you.) yet so far.
Did that JB chappy sneak another Carp out?
Yes Mick one of 8-06 .
I was gutted when I thought of the big roach I tried to lift out which fell off into my bait box and back into the lake which would of beat John.
Fantastic fishing on the top two and maggots mostly roach to 8 ounces and then had a run of perch.
inside line is very deep and the fish are very happy to come in I needed to have caster to get the bigger roach.
John Cowling had a roach about a pound and three quarter it was massive.
With caster you have a better chance of bream as you get through the little roach.
To say it was close was an understatement but a good battle with John but I will need to catch a carp as I have been done twice in a week.
Fantastic sport at the moment.
I reckon you should have a Silvers table too, you would be 2 up then! That JB is obviously a one fish wonder. Doeas he catch it early and then sit back to watch you struggle to catch up with him?
Know what you mean about fish dropping off. N.Y. Day I lost too many by not using a “Carp” size landing net so I have been out a bought a canal mini fish “butterfly” size net for this Sunday.
good luck in you next battle.
Even John thought I had beaten him.
I had lots of bites but caught that weight in 3 hours as I wasted too long on the pole and bomb.
Must learn how to get those bream in numbers but I reacon a good angler vould catch 50lb of those big roach on caster and hemp as they average 6 to 8 ounces each.
Mick will get 70lb he whips faster than Indiana jones lol
Hard lines eddie
