Rolfs Lake Spring League. Round 2. 5th Feb 2012
Another cold day at the lake.
John and Paul had been down the lake on the Saturday to break the ice and give the anglers a head start on Sunday.
This is what greeted the anglers on the Sunday morning. (Thanks Pat Pritchard for the pictures)

Well done everyone who turned up, good effort indeed.
Good to see some fish (2nd overall) coming from peg 17 :O 😛 😀
Did Paul knock the fish out with 10 pints of pellets lol
i did say to paul that it wasnt easy on that peg 17 lol
Wasn’t easy on any peg today by the looks of it. Fair play to you all 🙂
what can I say Simon, a touch of class on peg 17 😉
2 rather big carp both hooked in the left pectoral fin LOL I did catch a big perch in the mouth though
poor andy on 18 played a carp on his silver rig for an age, he even saw his hook length at one point, then it realised it was hooked and bye bye
dont see the point in using light rigs when you’ve as much chance of a carp as a silver on pegs like that.
you might get 1 bite and 1 bite only
na i ment when paul fished 16 on wednesday
Well done guys that must of been hard.
See what some cold weather does, it makes the league a very close affair so all to play for in round three. Andy who is top of the individual league after two rounds ?.
it would be me with 20 points but I’m not in it! Turned up late on the first day and thought the £10 pools was for individual winner on the day not individual winner over the series!
That will teach me to turn up late.
Quormby has 18 points, 2 section sections from memory must be him.
we did ask you put you ran past us saying ‘na its ok, im shit at winter fishing’ lol
I won’t win anyway so it doesn’t, jammy draw yesterday nothing to do with my silver fish skills I can tell you that for nothing! Anyone else use a 6.4mm bush for roach?
Glad I’m not in the small lake for the next four weeks….
Yes Andy has 18 points and is the overall leader.
Still early days yet, the little lake is the draw of death at the moment unless you are on 34 and also 9, 10 or 13 as these pegs are still in the section with the little lake. In my opinion you will always catch some silvers off these pegs, I am just not sure about the rest of them when there is a lid on it
You will need some luck along the way at the draw, however you will need to produce the goods when the opportunity arises
As Steve says, its a marathon and not a sprint, if most teams are in touch of each other with 2 matches left, anyone can win it !!!
1 more match and we’re half way though so not too early days
Hopefully we’ll be ice free for the next match and hopefully some milder weather with it as well. We ll know the small lake is brutal when the cold stuff hits and so it proved, mind you in 10 peg section as long a you catch something it’s points and that’s what counts overall. 4 matches to go so anything can happen
bad news, the weather forecast on the radio this morning said the ‘big freeze’ is set for another 4 weeks!!!!!! hopefully its a classic british weather forecasting cock-up!
No only is AndyQ a complete drawbag, he’s also the luckiest angler I’ve ever know, two foul hooked carp for 2nd in the section……outrageous LOL
foul hookers shouldn’t count in my opinion. Any gentlemen would put them back without weighing them in…..
lol you make your own luck sometimes.
how many were crying the poor tale of losing one on a silver rig. Ask dupiazas partner LOL
Rayment was a bit miffed with the lost carp. I wish he’d managed one blade tho cost us four points….
he tried his best, I really thought he was gonna land that carp, I convinced him it was in the pan
I think that rock I threw at it didnt help LOL 😛
as I said RE drawing, lets see what the draws are after the whole league
you and god were back to your usual 2 fliers yestererday, 34 and 14, id have noshed a tramp off for that draw
17 blanked on last match so its a mega form peg lol
How nice, you all have nice little pictures now 😀
did anyone get a picture of the lake yesterday?
hey Andy, they haven’t got one of you with a fish mate, I’m not surprised!
Pat got some pictures, he is sending them later.
I have a picture of Andy with a drowned rat… wait a minute, he was the drowned rat hehe
LOL
Which Andy, me or your partner? 😉
noshed a tramp off LMAO
the fishing might be hard but least there’s some banter
as for that photo of me,well blow me, I look like a victim
This one is better…. http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad11/rolfslake/P5290807_01.jpg

Rolfs champion 😉
you look like a pest in that photo pellet king…..
lol
to be fair, i dont deny it lol
all you need mate is a gimp mask and a snooker ball and you’d really look the part LOL
anytime big boy lol
slightly weird lol
only slightly? lol
