A nice midweek match down the lake.
Today saw only 7 anglers fish the midweek match down the lake which in the end had 3 ton plus weights.
The winner today was lake owner John Bennett who had just returned from two weeks holiday and he drew my favourite peg on the lake peg 5.
John fished a top two plus one both in front and down the edge combined with corn hook bait feeding pellet.
John caught carp to double figure in a very good winning weight of 176-13 to just stay ahead of Pete Arnold on peg 34 who caught 148-11.
If you fancy catching big carp then get down and try one of the Wednesday open matches you won’t be disappointed .

A wet day down the lake.
Today saw a small group of anglers fishing today’s open. The weather started ok but ended with heavy rain and thunder but this did not put the fish off feeding.
Today’s winner was Middy sponsored angler Andy Quarmby who was fish peg 10 on the motorway bank. Andy fish both shallow and down to his left hand edge at a range of top 2 plus 1 , fishing pellet and feeding 4mm to catch fish upto double figures in his final weight of 140-10.
In second place was Mick Jones on peg 4 and Mick alternated between bomb and short pole fishing meat to catch the second ton weight of the day at 106-13.

The winner of today’s match was Drennan sponsored angler Steve Waters who was fishing small lake peg 34 by the lily pads.
Steve fished 13 meters shallow with a 6mm pellet feeding 4mm pellet to catch his carp but suprisingly only one weigher in his weight of 194-08 and only 1 fish off the double ton.
