Fred’s Birthday Match 11th June 2012

.

Another wet day down the lake

What a way to spend your birthday, fishing down the lake with a load of your mates. Thats exactly what Fred did today. Its just a shame the weather wasn’t better. Paul Jay said it rained all day and even people UNDER their brollies got soaked.
Todays Winner Paul Jay was fishing from peg 16 using 8mm banded pellet at 8m right in front of him. Second place birthday boy got a ton for his birthday and caught on the bomb with worm on the hook after not being able to get a bite on his pole lines.

Wycombe Thames AC club match 10th June 2010.

The club anglers enjoy another day down the lake.

Today Rolfslake welcomed Wycombe Thames down to the lake and the anglers were hoping that the carp would be obliging.

John tells me that the weather today was intermitent light rain with very little breeze, which is normally a good sign for the carp to get their heads down and have a feed after their recent spawning. The winner today was Andy Camden who was fishing carp park bank peg 26 and Andy fished to the bush to his right fishing on the deck using pellet and meat hook baits. Andy had fish to double figures and was the only angler today who caught over the ton with his weight of 128-04 { well done Andy }.

As Simon has already mentioned the forthcoming night matches not only provide the chance of big weights,  the last two years have provided weights to nearly 400lb in these night matches but they are generally a good laugh. If you are interested give John a call to book a place as there are only 21 places available and it will give you plenty of time to sort out your gear for fishing in the dark.

Thanks for reading John, Simon and Eddie.

10 anglers fished as 5 dropped out last minute.

The winner today caught on the feeder filled with pellet with meat on the hook and took full advantage of being end peg in the little lake.

Peg 32 fished to the bush with punched meat.

It seems the lake fished quite hard for the rest even though they had plenty of room each.

Open Night Matches 2012.

The Night Matches are starting. The first one is on Friday the 22nd June. The draw time is 7pm and fishing is from 8pm to 1am.

Jinx Series, Match 1. 2nd June 2012

.

The start of the Annual JINX Series at the lake and with Gem ‘The MINX’ only catching 1 roach on her last visit to the lake everyone was pretty confident they would escape her clutches. BUT The Minx force was strong today, she had drawn peg 2 and I foolishly told her where to fish 😀 The only person she did not ‘MINX’ last year was Fred Parker but she got him first go this year…A prime candidate for the MINX hat if ever there was one 😛 She also managed to win her section as Paul ‘Dick Turpin’ Jay was Guesting for Marcus Burgess.

The Minx herself, Gem Doyle
