WEDNESDAY 11TH AUGUST OPEN MATCH
Real big weights now on the cards.
Today saw the culmination of all the hard work that John, Pauline and Dai have been doing down the lake these last 8 weeks.
The weights have been getting bigger and bigger with carp to nearly 20lb coming out in weights to 300lb recently and today’s match was the best so far.
Today’s match saw a triple a double and 5 ton weights to show what the lake is capable of and I am sure that a rare 400lb weight is possible on the right day.
Todays winner was Middy sponsored Andy Quarmby who was drawn on end peg 4 at the bottom of the small lake.
Andy fished long down the right hand edge and in front at 6 metres to catch his carp and had 10 big carp for 13lb towards the end fishing close in.
After 5 hours Andy recorded the highest weight down the lake this year at 338-07 and I am sure he enjoyed his day ( well done Andy ).
There was a close battle for second place between Andy Rayment and Micheal Corsini on pegs 8 and 7 which was won by Andy with 216-12 to Micheal’s 187-10
