A colder day slows down the weights.
Today saw a low attendance of 7 hardy anglers fish this weeks midweek open.
With the weather much colder there was not much fish movement on the surface as there usually is.
The match today was won by one member of the Midlands Mafia aka Steve Wilson who was fishing peg 4 in the small lake. Steve caught the majority of his carp on a 6 metre line straight out in front fishing on the deck fishing with pellet.
After a slow start Steve was a regular visitor to the scales with his 8 board fish going 124-12 out of his final weight of 141-08, topped by a carp of 19-04.
Someway back today but having a great run in these midweek matches was Andy Rayment on peg 30 in the big lake.
Andy caught at 13 metres on the deck fishing pellet feeding pellet and at the end caught a few down the edge for his weight of 90-09.
Completing the frame was Colmic’s Frank Donachie in no carp bay peg 10. Frank defied the odds to catch 8 carp towards peg 11’s platform for his weight of 75-04. His three heaviest fish went 43-12 of which the biggest on went 16-04 pictured below.
Todays winner Steve Wilson with a carp of 19-04
Colmic sponsored Frank Donachie with a carp of 16-04 on his last put in.
