Rolfslake Saturday mini open 14th August

Today saw a mini open in the big lake as there was a memorial match on the small lake.

There were many fish hooked and lost as the carp were in a feeding mood.

Top weight today was Steve Wilson on peg 14 who fished waggler and pole to catch fish to double figures in his weight of 111-07.

Steve fished both margins to speed up his catch rate.

Top carp of the day went to slim who had a lovely 20lb common but even topping that was Gary on peg 24 who caught the first tench seen at the lake in 10 years.

Rolfslake Wednesday open 11th August

A tough day at the office.

Today saw a well attended open down the lake with 19 anglers hoping to catch a few fish. With a cool breeze and overcast sky’s the carp were not as evident on the surface as they were on Tuesday, so things were looking promising.

How wrong can you be with anglers struggling to catch carp in any numbers and the ones that did get hooked did not come in easily.

Top spot day was Dave Porter on peg 32 which he had draw a few times recently but made no mistake fishing pellet and Paste in his winning weight of 118-11 at about 8 meters.

Results.
