Today experience fishing hosted a silver fishing match down the lake and this was attended by 12 anglers hoping to experience the other side of Rolfslake which is its super bream and specimen perch fishing which the anglers had the pleasure of today.

The main trick today was to avoid the feeding carp and line up the the roach perch and bream which was going to be a challenge as it was cold and windy with a splattering of rain during the 5 hours. Todays winner was Steve Waters who was fishing peg 22 and demonstrated a master class of how to catch silvers mainly big bream. Steve fished the edges where he caught roach and long to catch his bream feeding caster fishing caster on the hook and after 5 hours put a great weight of 55-10 for the win and record the highest silver weight of the year { well done Steve}.

Steve with his winning catch of 55-10.

In second place was Ben on peg 30 who had a combination of roach bream and perch for his weight of 34-00 closely followed by Derek Hammond who was fishing peg 13 aka the fridge who also managed to get the bream lined up for his weight of 32-09.

There were a lot of carp hooked and lost as the match went into the last hour a couple were caught and most were lost including me who lost 9 fishing to the bush to my right on peg 16 fishing maggot but my last cast saw me hook and land a beast common of 15lb on my 3 metre telescopic whip on 0.14 and a 18 hook fished with 5 maggots to make my day.

Also Gareth on peg 14 had 3 2lb plus perch topped by a 3lb beauty well done Gareth.
