The fish have a proper feed in today’s match.
Today saw a low attended midweek match but with the wind blowing on the lake for the previous two days , it triggered the carp in to feeding.
Today the anglers were again fishing the motorway bank as this was were the wind was blowing in to .
Today’s winner was Middy sponsored anglee Andy Quarmby who was fishing peg 8 in the gap between the big and small lake.
Andy fished across to the far bank 16 mtrs but it was a little to shallow to hold the fish there, so he also fished a short 6mtr line and one to the bush to his left.
Andy had only fish to 14lb as the majority of fish were smaller than usual (9lb) but by fishing pellet feeding pellet he kept the fish coming from.mainly the bush to his left.
A slow last hour stopped him catching a rare 300lb weight but he had to settle for his final weight of 255-08.
Today’s winner Andy Quarmby.
In a very close battle for second which was decided by only 9 ounces, saw Dave Wilsden on peg 9 prevail over John Bennett on peg 14 with his weight of 183-14 to John’s 183-05.
With the carp now starting to feed properly before the winter now is the time to catch yourselves some proper big carp to 20lb.
