The big carp still on the feed.

Today saw a much better attendance with the warm weather drawing a few more anglers out.

With the recent run of big weight there is still a chance of a 3 or 400lb weight still on the cards.

Today saw a 3  peg battle between Charlie Bishop on peg 7, Anthony Flint on peg 5 and Andy Quarmby on end peg 4.

Being in the big part of the lake and with fish more content on cruising in the warm water I could not see what how the three were doing.

The winner today and coming back into form was Andy Quarmby on peg 4. Andy fished a few lines ,a long shallow line and long edge line and ending up fishing really close. He used pellet hookbait feeding pellet to catch his carp and still managed to lose a few in his winning weight of 241-04.

There was a very close battle for second place  between Charlie Bishop on peg 7 and Anthony Flint on peg 5. Charlie was at least 9 carp ahead of Anthony coming into the last 2 hours, but a massive effort by Anthony would see him close that gap to one fish at the end.

At the scales Anthony weighed 167-12 only to see Charlie weigh 177-13 and claim second place.

Spare a thought for John Bennett on peg 13 who had 52-08 on the board after a strong run of fish at the end of the match, and when we went to weigh him in his net was gone.

These fish are so full of energy that they pulled his net in and all escaped costing him 4th place.
