The weights are creaping up.
Today’s match saw 14 anglers come out for the Bank holiday Monday Open.
The day was a bit cooler that the previous weekend which was really.warm.
Today’s winner was Mark Newbold who was fishing motorway bank peg 14. After a very slow first two hours Mark potted a big amount of bait to kick start his swim to the right.
10 minutes later he caught an 8lb carp which was the start of a great second half of the match in which Mark caught 135lb of board fish in his final weight of 242-14.
Keeping it close was Andy Rayment on peg 8 who also had a frustrating first 2 hours losing fish.
Andy was fishing 16 metres across the gap and once he stopped feeding by catapult and changed to potting the bait his catch rate increased.
Again Andy had fish to double figures in his catch of 32 carp for 224-12.
Completing the frame and a very good weekend was Michael Corsini who had 100-03 from peg 38 for a 1st, 1st and 3rd.

Car park bank mini open.
Today saw 9 anglers fish a mini open on the car park bank as there was a club match on the motorway bank.
Today winner was Michael Corsini who fish peg 36 in the little lake. Michael fished at a range of 8 metres to catch carp to double figures using maggot and pellet in his winning weight of 138-00.
There was a close battle for second between Malc Doyle on peg 24 and John Bennett on peg 34.
John won the battle and came second with his weight of 92-00 to Malc’s 85-03.

The 18 anglers are split into 3 sections and the points scored 1 for 1st in section going to 6 points for last in section.
The angler with the lowest points after 6 matches wins the league and in the event of a draw will go down to total weight.
This year see’s two ladies Julie and Lisa join the league competing not only against the 14 men but also against their husbands.

Jinx League night match 2017
Tonight saw 14 anglers invited by Malc Doyle to fish one of Rolfslake’s rare night matches. These matches are fished from 7pm and finish at midnight under floor lights.
The match started off slowly but picked up after dark and tonight was won only just by Simon Watkins on peg 22 with his weight of 127-05. Finishing very close was Top Tackles Jack Griffiths who had 122-05 from peg 28.
The anglers are treated with food prepared by Pauline aafter the match.
