Come on people get booked on these matches, I cannot believe these silver events don’t sell out. Right at the moment its the prime time of year for silvers before those pesky carp all wake up and have a proper munch. There’s an easy 20lb + of Roach/Skimmers/ Perch to be caught off the majority of pegs. Roach/Perch short, Skimmers & Bream long, it’s simple fishing and doesn’t get any better than at this very moment.
I don’t understand why people arent going
Young Brad Gibbons was running silver opens at RBF (lower weights than Rolfs) and people were literally fighting to get on them. Even the likes of Will and his pals were first names down.
I’ve only fished 1 match at rolfs this year and had 33lb on a top kit messing about seeing how close I could catch
And ive not been coming because been busy practising for the semi final at colemans but I think i’m coming this saturday
I know mate it doesn’t make sense, I know what you mean about fishing short, I could’ve easily caught 40lb of roach on Saturday on a top 4. I know that’s a big statement but trust me it was rigid with Roach on 10, I had 15-20lb and that was in between resting the skimmer line. I drew 8 a few weeks back (open match) and had 15lb of perch in the first 40mins, ended up with 36lb all roach/perch and wasted far to much time trying to snag a carp.
There should be traffic jams on the M40 at the weekends to get on a silvers match at Rolfs. It’s absolutely stiff at the moment but it wont last long once those carp get going.
Ian McCulloch’s going to post up something on MFS tonight, hopefully a few more bums on seats.
It is black, I had roach boiling at 2m in January!
Obviously with 25 on it wouldnt be as good but I still reckon it would be 15lb+ per man even with that many on
9th Feb saw 11 of us all in a row on car park bank and Derek still caught just short of 29lb of Silvers and I had nearly 26lb, cracking days fishing!
I heard a pre all in comment of “Blimey, it’s like sitting on a canal bank.”
Only wish I could make a Saturday silvers match.
Have a good crack at the Ton mark, Steve. The Champagne must be vintage by now.

they been having 2 day silver festivals ag Gold where 50% of the people literally catch 2 fish and yet nearly selling out mid week
