  • Shucks, if it had been 11am draw fish 12-5pm I could have made it on the 6th March.
10am draw could be a bit too tight but might have to see what I can do (Get up earlier in the morning to walk the dog!)

  • Is there a rule on how late someone can arrive but still fish?
Think I could make 10.30 but no earlier on the 6th, would only be Silvers fishing so wouldnt need long to set up Mr. Whippy!

    • As long as John knows your coming so he can leave a peg in for you can’t see it being a problem. I turned up 30 mins late due to traffic once and ended up on peg 4 but he knew I was coming and I had the last peg in the bag. I think you was on peg 8.

  • I was end peg Mick, that helped big time that day. I hate peg 4 but that day changed my mind a bit.

  • All good fun Andy and completely neccasary! lol Yep i’ve pegged it for 24 and looking at the sheet thats it but i will phone John just incase but 24 is a good number. It’s pretty much same as last year with a possible couple of changes. Last year was 34,8,15,16,17,26,24,23 29,35,6,4,21,10,38,40 9,7,2,13,14,27,31,19. I may swap 19 with 29 and possibly 27 with 23 but not sure yet. My other possible change is to move peg 2 to the ‘death’ section as i feel it isn’t that great in the section it’s in but i don’t want to overcomplicate it as it’s complicated enough! It did work ok last year so i my just move 29 and 19. I do think 23 is not so good with 21 and 19 in though so swapping that with 27 could be the right thing to do. Let me know your thoughts as any input from you all is appreciated. But my final decision will be with John.

  • I do agree with 19 for 29. 29 is a good peg, I had 200lb of it last year on the last match and it can be a good area.

It did work well last year. In the death section, with 38,40,4,6 I think peg 2 should be in there too as then at least you are all fishing the same area of water if that makes sense. I.E if the little lake is rubbish, its same for you all, or vice versa

I was initially sceptical last year but I hold my hands up and say it was pretty much spot on so what ever it is I will go with it.

What REALLY gripes me is when organiser just lump all the pegs in and say ‘luck of the draw’ with no thought or consideration that the main aim is for everyone to have a few fish, but to also make it as fair as possible.

just hope it warms up ffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think 2 should go into the section of death

  • yep ,29 won two sections last year so i think we will go with that swap. To move peg 2 i would have to swap it with 6 or 35 as although 4 won the last day i don’t think it will cope in the middle section neither does 40 or 38 so we are talking 35 or 6 as i want to leave 10 where it is. 21 will only fish if the wind blows into it as does 10 and Mick won off 21 on day 1 but it didn’t produce on the next 2 days. I would say 6 as it has a good last hour margin.

  • Yah 6 is a consistent peg, if the weather is anything like I’d be happy drawing it
