Rolfslake Easter Festival 2013
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT 3 MORE ANGLERS HAVE PULLED OUT OF THE FESTIVAL. MAY I REMIND ANGLERS AND VISITING CLUBS THAT WHEN YOU BOOK IN TO A FESTIVAL OR A MATCH YOU ARE MAKING A VERBAL CONTRACT OR AGREEMENT TO FISH AND CANCELLATION AT SHORT NOTICE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, IN THE EYES OF THE LAW I COULD SEEK TO RECOVER LOST REVENUE CAUSED BY THESE ACTIONS ( I AM GLAD TO SAY MATT SMITH IS SENDING ME £24 TO COVER COST OF 3 DAYS PEG FEES) HOWEVER IT STILL IMPACTS THE OTHER ANGLERS FISHING IE; THE OVERALL PAYOUTS, LIKE ME I AM SURE THEY WILL FEEL ANNOYED AND LET DOWN BY THESE ACTIONS. I AM DETERMINED NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN, AND IF AND I MEAN IF THERE IS A FESTIVAL NEXT YEAR, NAMES WILL NOT BE ENTERED ON THE LIST UNTIL I AM RECEIPT OF THE PEG FEES FOR THE EVENT ON A NON RETURNABLE BASIS (EXCEPT IN VERY SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES) THE REMAINDER TO BE PAID 14 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE EVENT OR YOUR NAME TO BE REMOVED FROM THE LIST, ALSO YOUR PLACE IN FUTURE EVENTS AT THE LAKE MAY ALSO BE CONSIDERED THERE ARE NOW 6 PLACES AVAILABLE

Booked you two on Andy.
I’m there
Added you Mikey 🙂
Yippee! The Easter festival looms, looking forward to it and seeing John and all the lads and hopefully a few lumps! 🙂
are you doing similar pegging to last year Phil? I was slightly cynical at first but I think it worked out well overall. Obviously rolfs will always have an element of draw bag but thats fishing
I would have loved to have fished this but I’m gonna be a daddy around the time of this.
I don’t think Gem would be too happy hehe 😀 😛
you could let gem fish and start the babysitting duties early hope gems doing well and you also simon
All great here thanks John. We are at 31 weeks now, due on the 4th April. Hope to see you down the lake soon matey.
can you put down Justin Macabe please guys
Yeah if John’s happy with me doing that then i think we’ll keep it pretty much the same. I may swap round a couple of pegs from last year but it was the fairest your gonna get it i think.
Can you add Jonny Broadbent please. And i’ll be their for the open aswell, i will try not turn up an hour late for the draw this time 🙂
Can you add me please. Just need to persuade the other half we don’t need to celebrate her birthday.
Is DJ Quarmby going to have a gig again this year ???
Think he learnt his lesson last year Pat…Er, maybe not lol
I’ve had a look at last years pegging and the only alteration i would make is to swap peg 19 with 29. I am aware that if the wind blows in a different direction it may pan out differently but i reckon it’s the best your gonna get!
Hi,
Never fished Rolfs before, coming up from the north east.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers
Lee
It’s not me you need to watch out for this year. I’m bringing 2 other lunatics. There won’t be a pub in Wheatley we aren’t barred from by Monday lol
To be honest I can’t remember the pegging exactly. I just remember seeing mick lane on peg 19 wondering which tree he was gonna hang himself from on last day. 36,38,40,2,4,19,29?
Thanks for adding me to the list. Looking forward to seeing you all again! I have spoke to Mark Malin and he is keen on fishing and I think Kurtis Trantor (sorry if I have spelt your name wrong) is also coming along with him. So could you add them two young guns!!
Done Chris. Thank you.
Just seen the Festival mentioned in the Angling Times, they forgot to out the Sold Out sign up though.
Good luck to all.
Draw times have changed for the festival and the Friday Bank Holiday Open Match before the Festival…
10am fishing 11.30am-4.30pm. This will give anglers 1.5 hours to set up. Cheers
One short now for the Easter festival if anyone wants to fish.
Not long now boys…………..
I hope this weather stays warm!!
Looking forward to catching something that is going to fight back!!
get married Chris if thats what you’re looking for!
I bet you are after that impressive bag of fag papers you weighed in on the semi final! I bet the big sarge you hooked made the old buttcheeks nip up a bit tight lol!
I know Ian Mc was asking this but based on a sellout do you know what the payouts are?
I don’t know mate, would be the same payout as last year based on 24 hopefully. It was 6 payouts per day, top two in each section then overall top 5? Discuss it with John Sunday mate.
THE PAYOUTS FOR THE EASTER FESTIVAL ARE NOW ON SITE, THE FIGURES ARE BASED ON 24 ANGLERS FISHING AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IF WE ARE SHORT OF THAT FIGURE.
Mate, i’ve never been so scared of a fish!!
Bonus Perch on a Semi-Final, squeaky bum time. Top angling matey. All Winners Final next !!!
Pat Pritchard has had to drop out so there is a space available if anyone is interested cheers.
He’s the king of giving back word lol!
2 places available now as Lee has dropped out.
Hope the weather improves for next weekend.

4 days until the fun begins!!
BLOOD WORM AND JOKER IS ALLOWED ON THE FESTIVAL, IT HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE BEFORE, SO NO NEED TO CHANGE RULES FOR THIS YEAR
Looks like the weather is perking up for the weekend.
Bloomin’ cold rather than Freeze yer bits off.
I’m still umming and arghing about Friday though.
More drop outs what’s going on, why is it people say they’ll fish then drop out last minute, it’s enough to drive you mad.
To be honest I gave serious thought about not fishing the Festival myself as it has been pretty brutal over the past few weeks/months, rather than let the lads down I decided to stick with it, besides surely it can only get better from now on.
Having said that though if more people drop out then cross me off because if they’re less people the £105 entry makes it a lot less viable in my eyes, dont get me wrong I’m not going for the glory but if you do win it’s got to be worthwhile or at least have a chance of getting your money back anyway.
don’t drop out Steve or you will be called a pretend angler like me…….
I can guarantee us 3 crazy fools will be there even if its frozen!
As a suggestion Jon
If only 18 instead of 24, maybe just pay top 4 instead of 5?
Alternatively – and I know it would need to be fully agreed, how about a small increase in entry fee? Maybe 120 all in instead of 105
Just a thought
As I say me, ant and Julian (lol!) will be there no matter what
Even easier, just pay one in each section rather than two. I dont think people will suck up the extra entry fee. It’s only £110 to enter a major White Acress Festival and that’s over 5 days !!!
18 is a good number and i would like to think that it will stick at that. Six in a section will give everyone room and improve the fishing in these awful conditions. Being pole only will make for a fair festival and i agree paying top four overall and 3 section placings per day should be the right approach and i’m sure John will agree with that to. We’ll have a laugh whatever happens! plenty of abuse waiting lol I will re-do the pegging for 18 and we will finalise it between us all on Friday/Saturday morning.
Dawg you’re a legend
On a lighter note I think it’s a year since I went for a swim in peg 8 and crushed my draws of my seat box. Carried on to finish the match that day but didn’t win funny enough. Glad I went in last year and not this year, if it was this year I would have probably died of shock from the cold water or hyperthermia trying to finish the match!!
Tight lines crazy cold weather anglers……….i’ll be in the pub.
and it was a year ago tomorrow you had 287lb off peg 18. Sun burn day!
“Global Warming” my A***.
And came 2nd 😛
Mate I’d take 287lb and come flat last right now and still be over the moon! more than my years accumulated match weights i reckon…… been dire
you and me both
I’d be happy with 28lb 7 of Silvers. Keep me busy keep me warm.
a man of your calibre i’d expect at least 60lb of silvers
Mick ‘whip-lash’ Jones
I seem to winkle out around 10-12lb of Roachies but never seem to get a little run of slabbies. Might have to try a bit of caster pie.
I prefer beef and ale personally Mick but always open to new ideas
Nice and crunchy & full of protein.
2 hours at gas mark 5? lol
2 pints to a kilo mixed with Oxo.
I was doing alright that day Mick nicking the odd fish here and there. Kersplash!!!! they backed off a bit.
18 anglers….. happy days. Let’s be postive! It’s still a good match, good standard of angler and great characters. Lets go enjoy it. It is going to be tough fishing.
I think that we pay only 1 in a section of six. Only 6 peg sections and pay the top 4 overall. Just like the big DAWG said.
You can’t force people to go fishing. The weather is and has been shocking and has effected people over the last few weeks…..
We have a few more days whereby places could get filled.
See you guys Friday.
Chris
18 is a decent number considering the conditions
Personally i’m really looking forward to it, call me insane, call me worse (peope usually do lol) but match fishing is about the challenge and competition
Its definitely going to be challenging 🙂 and its still a competition so…
GAME ON!!
Unless I wake up on Friday and find raging blizzards and ice bergs floating down the M40 I will be there.
yum yum
I can hear the bream stirring from here!!
