Rolfslake Saturday Open 3rd November 2012.
A super hard day down the lake .
Today the anglers were greeted with a hard frost and cold weather which put the carp totally off feeding , and with the anglers hoping to catch at least one carp in a match carp carp lake wasted far to much time for no end result.
The winner today was Steve Waters who would of won the match without the 15lb carp he caught just before the end of the match because he had already caught nearly 14lb of roach and skimmers fishing worm and maggots and he believes had he not wasted time trying to catch the carp he could of caught near to 30lb as there were plenty of silvers out there. After 5 hours Steve weighed 28-15 and beat his nearest rival by 20lb { well done Steve ].
In second place was Mick Chapell fishing motorway bank peg 18 and by fishing long down the edge towards peg 19 he managed to keep puting silvers into his net and one big perch of 2-08 which on a day like today was a big bonus in his weight of 8-03. The three way battle for third was eventually won by Adam Griffiths on peg 13 with his two big bream helping him to his final weight of 6-03.

Wow that was hard.
Possible much the same today for the first round of the winter league :O
Too right Simon.
Got beaten by John and his pellet that had fallen into his net lol.
Also lost a near 4lb perch in the bush on 14 which also smashed my rig as it was massive when it surfaced but no good on my 3 metre whip,
Well done to Mick Chappell, top bagger on the day! good result.
yeah well done Mick
All big fish waters fished rubbish on saturday, the theale pits final they had was dire too, 20lb was a decent weight on saturday where-as top 6 over 80lb literally 3 days beforehand!
sundays match looked quite decent considering the sodding weather!
