SILVER FISH ONLY MATCHES on saturdays
We shall be holding silver fish only matches on Saturdays, starting on the 6th November the day before the start of the winter league and when we have a Sunday open, the open match on a Saturday will be a silver fish only match.
I hope these will show another side to Rolfs Lake, and unlock the massive potential of the silvers in the lake, also it may introduce a influx of different anglers to these matches.
PLEASE SUBMIT ANY COMMENTS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE SO I CAN GAUGE THE LEVEL OF SUPPORT FOR THIS IDEA.

I would be well up for that! I fed up with catching nothing on my angling times winter league matches!!
I should be able to get on them….. fingers crossed! I see that Mick Lane almost done 40lb of silvers in last Saturdays open! That is awesome fishing……. by anyone’s standards.
Catching roach on caster……
Perch on lobworms……
Another suggestions:
Any carp counts for 3lb…….
Have an individual series of 3 matches
Have a pairs match (maybe series of 3 matches)
Yes silvers matches sound good.
Leave the carp out of the equation though

Chris…..but then if someone catches 10 carp (fishes for them), they have got 30lb! That could be enough to win. I see what you are saying though. John……I might fish one of the silver fish matches as I would love to catch 15lb+ of silvers (Ive never done that before). Would there be anyway of me (being a junior) fish for £10(?) being in the match but not being in the pools?

With regards to pools money, you would have to speak to John about that. I’m not the organiser.
Fishing for silvers Dan should involve plenty of bites and you should really enjoy it. I will show you my rigs before the match if you like and also you can have a go with my gear afterwards.
I might even be tempted to leave my stick float kit in the shed a bit longer.

silver fish matches sound like a good idea how about £3.00 carp pool also simon might not break his pole so often with silvers also what about silvers peg kings.

i hope paulines been busy sewing the nets for the silvers also just to let paul jay eddie simon john bennet and a few more know that u can buy hooks smaller than a size 10 from all major tackle shops
good to hear from u simon eddies concrete paste might not work on silvers still ok for general brickwork repairs though keep up the good work websites excellent lads

Eddie’s paste is also good for playing conkers with.
ive still got an old winter league ice breaking kit eddie gave me its 20metres of his silver fish main line with a 2lb lump of paste on the end he sells them on ebay to eskimoes

Hi Chris, Went up rolfs today, fished for about 6 hours. Had 28lb 13oz all roach to over 1lb and perch to 3lb 8oz. Great days fishing. Caught a 1lb and 2lb 1oz perch as well. Perch were caught on chop at 11m and about 100 roach at 6m on mag over groundbait loaded with some chop and caster. Im going to send a couple to eddie for the site.
PS. Eddie, the pictures turned out brilliant, that perch looks 5lb!!!:) What email address shall I send them to?

There is nothing wrong with super X4 Simon and John H.
It can not be used as cement, mortar or for playing conkers you silly men. I will be more than happy to take your money on a silvers match and that includes Bennett. If i had not turned around and saw Mick and John catching carp today i would not of wasted 4 hours trying to catch the two that i did even if they went 31lb. In the one hour i did fish for silvers i had 8lb and loads of bites and bumped fish so i reckon i could of had over 40lb in five hours fish the top three over the keepnet.
Catching silvers is what i was brought up on, fishing the London parks as a kid so i am better on this than i am on paste so bring it on.
Wish I had a bite like that on Saturday 😀

When i was a kid Henry the 8th was king of the lake at Rolfs, John B would of been dunked in the lake for all his peg drawing magic and Mick Lane would never of gone hungry fishing for food for the table.
Eddie still spends alot of his time hanging about in the london parks!
If I were you Eddie, I wouldn’t publish that fact.
