  • Is ‘A’ section the ‘carp’ section or the bowl section now?

  • I thought “no carp bowl” is now A section and the top end is B

  • cant change the pegging mid way thru surely!!

  • its done and dusted

    7,8,9,10,13,32,31,30,29,28,27 A section

    34,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,24,25,26 B section

im in A section next time, not really any peg I currently fancy drawing! lol

    • well its more fair going forward but I take it the scoring isnt going to be amended for no carp bay on the previous three matches? so those teams that have suffered a blow out (or two in our case) will be stuffed?

13 or 27 in that A section, and they’re still a tough draw.

  • pull your finger out!

still peggy 19 and 21 will be draws of death in that top section

  • Mark I couldnt agree more, that’s why I personally didnt want it changed as it potentially affects the overall if you based it over all six matches, most agreed that it would even out over the series when the pegging was discussed in the first place, however a vote was taken on the people who stayed after the match so it’s getting changed so it never stood a chance, your partner being one for the change I might add and he’s drawn in the carp soup in both matches LOL

    • from a fairness objective I agree, Paul Jay and his partner have both drawn on the carp both matches so they have got a head start on everyone now as its harder to have a complete blow out. Where as we’ve had mark on 28, and justin in a bad area.

yesterdays ‘soup’ was reminiscent of the crap they sell in the works canteen

least I beat super si off next peg 😛 if he cant get a bite, there’s no fish there

    • basically the league is buggered.

  • have faith my young padawan

    • wish I was young…… getting on these days those bindings are defiantly getting further away!

  • Andy, take a look at the picture… http://rolfslake.com/images/andycast.png
The blue do is where I was fishing. The red dot is where you were casting, Me, Malc, Paul Jay and Geoff all saw you. I asked you to move it and you ignored me. You were fishing to the left of peg 17. So well done on fishing my peg and ignoring requests to move. What’s a sportsman. I don’t normally complain but you pi**ed me right off to be honest.
Don’t say you were not fishing there because you was and you know it.
You had more room than me But you could see Geoff catching and wanted to get as far left as you could. Each cast was getting further and further in front of me.
I think the splash of your bomb hitting the water even wet Malcs face on one cast 😀 😛
    /rant over.

  • all getting very competitive……

    • Not really, just annoying when people are fishing in your peg even after being asked to move. Paul cast in to Geoff;s peg a few times, Geoff asked him to move and he did.

  • Si as i said both During and Afterwards to Andy it was blatant Cheating regards his casting.
To continue after being told about it is no more than saying up yours to everyone fishing as well as Rules.

We all miss cast on occasions but that’s a lot different to outright CHEATING which in my book is what happened.

  • You ought to be ashamed of yourself Mr Q that is disgraceful LOL. In the words of Paul Glenfield if your not cheating your not trying hard enough.

Mind you I heard on the jungle drums someone put a sneaky bit of bread on last week?

I never had a bite on it myself.

  • What is that true about the bread steave It bet of not be

  • well luckily we arent going by your book.

click on Peg info and look at peg 23, if your telling me that peg 23 can’t cast to the left of peg 17 then ill book you into specsavers asap. Then click on 24, and its facing almost the same way almost. Thats where the confusion is, both can cast to the same spot almost as the platforms are slightly angled.

rather than going around calling people cheats and causing bad feelings you should engage brain before pressing on keyboard

if I felt I was chucking in someone elses peg I would honestly wind it in, whether you chose to believe that or not is up to you

  • jees, friendly spring league is hotting up thats for sure LOL!!!

    • We were having a good laugh until you started fishing in my swim. So blame yourself for that.
You even said during the match that 23 is in line with 16. Look at the pictures, it clearly is not.

  • Best book an appointment then. Look at the lines on the picture. They are square to the pegs. This picture is off Peg info >>>> http://rolfslake.com/images/andycast.png

Now click this second picture link, are you trying to tell me this is where peg 23 can fish too.. ??? LOL….. http://rolfslake.com/images/andycast2lol.png

That gives peg 24 no room to fish if you think that’s right.. Dear me. Bring your white stick and labradoodle next time lol

    • jees Si, you cant work it out based on a tiny photo taken from miles above.

Click on peg into on the individual peg I meant

why have you drawn a line between 15 and 16? your just being silly now lol

I said 23 can chuck to the right of 17 as you look at it, I didnt say peg 15

if you click on peg info and see the photo that you see on peg 23 then it is facing directly in between 16 and 17.

Peg 23 and 24 are facing towards each other thats the problem. If you click on 24 I can see why you think I was doing it, but if you look on 23 you will also see my point

Malc – i never denied chucking to the left of 17, look at the individual photo from peg 23.

this is the reason I voted for pole only as with every peg in, its bomb-aggedon

      • Yes the platform is not square to the bank, but you were chucking to the LEFT of 17 which was dead in front of me. That’s what those silly lines indicate.
You had loads of room to your right up to the rope and aerator but you kept coming over in front of me.
I could not have fished anymore to my left as John was chucking out too.
Nevermind, you think what you want, blame what you want, but in my opinion you was in my peg and I told you at the time and have told you now but your completely oblivious to it. Just laugh it off.

  • No keyboard warrior here as i shouted to you when i first saw you do it (as did others ) and then i said it to your face afterwards and you were actually chucking past my Right infront of peg 16.

So you were told about it and you still carried on

    • because i dont agree with what was being said. If there’s a dispute then get the lake owner at the time to come and verify it

      simples!

if the person then does it, he gets DQ’d.

Everyones entitled to their opinions, then we can all agree im right 😛

  • Easy throw your bomb over the top of their line and crank hard, that’ll stop it…..be warned lol

    • like geoff and peg 25 wrestling with that fish? that was the highlight of the day without question

  • pretty sure you were sneaking past peg 11 platform a touch 😉 lol

  • Well Andy you’ve been rumbled ya cheat lol, I shouldn’t laugh as I’ve put the squeeze on myself as I’m sure we all have at times. Does sound like you took the pee thou

  • Thats the problem with allowing northerners to fish, they have no concept of fair play.

  • Just added a table of the results so far.

  • Give it a rest will ya guys, Andy doesn’t cheat. Ironically he wanted it to (pole only to stop this sort of crap ruining the league. Shows he was right in the first place!

  • According to your logic if you don’t like the rules feel free to cheat??

  • No mate, that’s not what I’m saying.

I’m saying Andy predicted that bomb chucking would cause arguments in a tightly pegged bowl…… fun enough it has.

That’s the thing with circles, the half way tends the be the middle for everyone!

  • To summerise Si is saying that Andy was chucking in his peg try to get as far left as possible to snag a carp as they were all sat in Peg15 and was repeatedly asked to move and didnt. Reading between the lines Andy is saying that he was chucking in that area but doesnt agree that he was that far left due to how the pegs are laid out and therefore had no intention of moving as he felt he was fishing in the right area.

I also suggested pole only for that exact reason, but surely people can sort this out at the time. If someone chucks in my peg I will just cast my line straight over their pole line with the biggest feeder in my bag and fill it in followed by “sorry mate”

    • I do understand what Andy is saying though. The peg does face towards peg 16 but its not square to the bank and should be facing between 17 and 18. (where he should have been casting)
Anyway its happened and I am past caring now. What triggered this monumental wrap round was bragging about beating me off the next peg when his fish came from my swim lol. That’s my last comment on that matter.

Tight at the top, anyone can still do well. Its 14 degree’s down here at the minute, hopefully the water will be warmer in 2 weeks and disperse that shoal from between 15 and 25. I’m hoping to see more silvers being caught as well, a nice bag of bream would be awesome. 😀

      • Si – Ok so its calmed down a bit now. All I can say is I honestly did not think I was chucking in your peg, and if you asked me to move it I swear hand on heart I never heard you. I heard malc make a comment but he said it in a jokey way and no one mentioned I should actually move it.

we can’t change the past so how about if need be, pegs have defined zones to fish in, when platforms are slightyl angled, and some pegs are tight it is not always easy.

Anyway av done with the subject now. The reason I jumped to my defence was that being called a cheat is a strong accusation, and not one that over impressed me.

lets call a truce and in future if there is any problem it gets sorted out straight away on the bank

Its a friendly league and it would be good if it could get back to that.

  • My word Geoffs shoulders must be aching a bit, seems he has been carrying JB for the passed 2 weeks!
Seeing as the weather is perking up a bit I might be tempted out of my winter hibination soon.
    All the best everyone.

  • Funny comment Mick but stop changing the subject about that cheating peg 16 chucking Quarmby lol cast in yer own peg tapper!!! lol

  • Simon:

Another reason why the pegging should remain…nuff said

  • i really hope so….. lottery at the moment with the insurance of less blow outs due to peg changes.

  • I’m still patiently waiting for a wrap round…;-)

    • 😛 I would say you need to cast into a different spot but thats not gonna down well at the moment lol

      nice try though 😛

  • Caught red handed dawg lol

  • during the olympics i watched micheal phelps win lots of gold medals in the swimming pool i wondered if jb could rope the lake of in a similar fashion to the swimming pool might stop any confusion on where castings allowed 4miles of rope should do the job

  • Considered fishing some open matches at Rolfs Lake but am concerned about the blatent cheating, (according to the comments) which took place on Sunday. Thought it was standard knowledge that no one casts into someone elses peg…….?? Like to fish where rules are respected , whats the point if cheating is tolerated? Surely I’m not the only fisherman who feels like this.

  • hmmm….smelling a spoof wind-up account here

come clean, come clean, who-ever you are 😛

    • LANDLORD, beautiful British name, stands for Wooden spoon as used for stirring.
We all know what good chaps & chapess’s we are at the lake.

  • Have I spotted an oddity?
It would appear Ernie M peg 34 and Andy R peg 21 both scored 8pts from A section.
I do hope I haven’t stirred up a wasps nest!

  • Ernie was in B section, its a typo Mick

  • The website is not designed to be used a vehicle to start discussing issues of cheating after the event. Fishing these matches is about common sense and fair play and as the rules are straight forward we should all stick by them.
Mark as the match is not pole only your point about there being potential problems should be dealt with during the match.
As you have all have had your say this will be the last comment on the subject as our many visitors are not interested in peoples thoughts on cheating just look what happened on the issue on mugging that got totally out of control.
As one of the three moderators of this website I will delete and block
comments that tarnish the good name of Rolfslake and give the wrong impression of the matches that we run.

  • well said eddie

  • allso this is comment 62 and i think the first one to congratulate geoff on a fantastic weight and win all he needs now is his partner in crime jb to draw on a few fish to help him out

  • Good point John Hague. Well done Geoff on a brilliant winter weight. Now then John Bennett pull your finger out and get catching lol. 🙂

  • jb drew my favourite peg 32 sunday but not so good in january i prefer it about july how you doing neo
