Boxmore Angling Club match 23rd May 2010.

Today Rolfslake welcomed back Boxmore Angling Club to the lake ,and a eager bunch of anglers were soon ready to get the draw underway.

John tells me it was a sunny warm day and that the anglers had a great day even if Rolfslake did not fish a good as it ususally does at this time of the year. In first place today was Derek Smith who was fishing the small lake on the motorway bank peg 4 and Derek chose to fish two lines, one straight out in front and one down the edge. The bait used today was corn fished on the deck which brought Derek fish to double figures in his great final weight of 259-00 and only 3 ounces off claiming the peg king for this peg { well done Derek }. In second place was Micheal Twine fishing the short walk to peg 32 by the hut. Micheal started off fishing up in the water for the first couple of hours catching a few fish but then changed to the line down the edge towards peg 33 and by using a combination of pellet and paste boosted his weight to 167-00 which also included fish to double figures.

In third place and a Rolfslake first was the first female angler to frame in a match and her name was Adelle Beasley. Now Adelle currently holds the biggest carp caught by a female angler down the lake at i believe 17-04 caught in last years match and today was a match for all her club anglers whilst she fished car park bank peg 26. Adelle fished at a range of 5 metres fishing on the deck using 8mm banded pellet for hookbait feeding pellet, and during todays match managed to catch 3 15lb carp and a couple of other big fish in her final weight of 129-00 { well done Adelle i won’t mention that you beat your husband Dave by over 46lb that will be our little secret }.

John and Pauline would like to say thank you to the club and hope to see you again next year.
