John had done a great job keeping an area ice free in the middle of the lake by using the areators to disperse water onto the ice to melt it and it worked a treat allowing John, Paul and myself a chance to have a silvers match only fishing pole and a maximum 6 metres which to John meant 12 metres ,Paul 8 metres and me 6 metres { so much for rules }.<\/p>\n<p>The little match was to last 4 hours as it was -6 degrees on accu weather but there were\u00a0bites to be had fishing maggots on the deck with all of us catching roach { John caught one at about 1-08 } and some nice big perch and towards the end John was catching down the edge.
