First frosts kill the sport in today’s open match.<\/span><\/p>\n

John tells me that after the previous nights temperature reaching as low as -7 it affected the weights in today’s match with many anglers struggling to get bites and catch any quantity of fish. After the previous weeks good weights the seven anglers were hoping for a few fish and on approaching the lake today could see plenty of\u00a0carp topping in the small lake where John had been feeding them earlier. It was decided to fish the big lake today as the small lake had fished poorly on Wednesday and the anglers were drawn between peg 28 and peg 16.<\/p>\n

Todays winner Derek Hammond.<\/p><\/div>\n

The winner today was Derek Hammond who was fishing car park peg 26 and managed to catch 3 carp on his favoured waggler fished on the deck for 29-08 followed by Mark Newbold with one carp for 13-04 and third was Mick Chappell also with one carp for 11-04 in what was a very hard and very cold match.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow’s final winter league match will be a very tight and tense affair as almost all the teams can win the league as there are only 7 points separating the top 4 teams ,so it will be important that all team members catch tomorrow especially in the dreaded A section. John also tells me that there were plenty of silvers topping in the big lake so hopefully everyone has brought their maggots.<\/p>\n
